Whenever we go out to Chinese Restaurant for dinner, my hubby orders hakka noodles. He just loves them. But he always complains that they add a lot of oil to it and it is not healthy. Now I prepare this recipe at home – yummy and healthy too 🙂
Hakka noodles with shrimps
Ingredients: Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Serves:2, Prep. Time: 30 Minutes
1 packet Hakka Noodles(I used Chings Hakka Noodle Packet)
1 medium sized onion
1 medium sized tomato
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
10 shrimps
1 tablespoon black pepper powder
1 tablespoon soya sauce
1 and 1/2 tablespoon green chili sauce
2-4 tablespoon oil
5-6 cups waterFor Marinating Shrimps:
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
Devein and de-shell the shrimps. Wash them properly and then apply chilly, turmeric powder and salt. Marinate and keep them aside for 30 minutes.
Boil 5-6 cups of water. Add hakka noddles to the water when bubbles start forming in the water.
Add 1 teaspoon oil to the noodles boiling in the water. Add 1/4 tsp salt to it. Let them boil for 3 minutes or as per the instructions given on the packet. Boil the noodles Al-dente. Drain the water and spread it over a flat plate. Toss gently with a fork.
In a pan or kadai, add oil and let it heat for 1 Minute. Add onion and fry till the onions turn pinkish.
Add ginger garlic paste and saute for 1 minute.
Add tomatoes and saute till the tomatoes turn mushy.
Now add the marinated shrimps and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
Add the sauces and black pepper powder and saute for 1 minute.
Add the boiled noodles and mix everything well.
Add salt to taste and mix.
