You people might have noticed that I did not post anything delicious these days. That is because I am not cooking delicious stuff these days. I was actually extremely tied up with things at home. Not getting time for my blog due to my office and home and kid or you can say that I am too lazy to write. But friends today’s post is completely different. It is a guest post written by my hubby. He tried the following recipe during his business visit to California. This is for sure a recipe not tried by anyone else before and is worth a try. By looking at it I am sure this recipe turned out awesome. Also friends don’t forget I learnt my initial cooking from my “Dear Hubby”. Also I want to thank him for his constant support for this blog of mine 🙂
Now here comes the post. It is a bit different from the normal recipe posts on my blog. But it is well written by a Software Engineer and can be understood easily. Also he took special efforts to click a pic of the final dish. He sent me this recipe and pic via email so that I can put it up on my blog. No doubt the world’s best chef’s are MEN. Ok, women please don’t bang me… you too are equally good 🙂
Ok now handing over to Mr. MK – the invisible support for Raksha’s Kitchen..

If you are a bachelor/spinster and do not find time to cook delicious recipes, then the below recipe may satisfy your taste buds at least to some extent 🙂
I tried this recipe when I was on my business trip to California for two months and was missing my wife Raksha’s nutritious and delicious home-made food cooked with love and affection.
Ingredients:
5 tablespoon oil
1 tablespoon mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds / jeera seeds
2 red chillies
2 medium sized garlic cloves
1/2 medium sized onion
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 red tomato
20 small shrimps/5-6 big shrimps
1 tablespoon grated coconut
2 tablespoon green peas(soft)
5 tablespoon water
5 basil leaves
Procedure:
On a low flame, put 5 table spoons of oil in a frying pan.
After it gets hot, put a table spoon of mustard seeds and let them splutter.
Put a teaspoon of cumin seeds.
Add 2 red chillies (each cut into two halves).
Add two medium sized garlic cloves finely chopped and wait for them to turn brown.
Add 1/2 of a medium sized onion finely chopped.
Keep it on a low flame and cover with a lid.
Allow it to become reddish brown.
Add 1/2 of a tea spoon of turmeric powder (this helps in reducing smell of shrimps).
Add 1/2 of a tea spoon of red chilli powder.
Add 1 red tomato finely chopped.
Add 20 small shrimps or 5-8 big shrimps.
Add a pinch of salt.
Add a table spoon of grated coconut.
Add two table spoons of soft green peas.
Add 5 table spoons of water.
Optionally, sprinkle 5 basil leaves.
Cover it with a lid and keep on a low flame till shrimps are cooked.
(Alternatively, shrimps can be boiled separately and added)
After shrimps are cooked, garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves (cilantro).
