Today being a Sunday I had to prepare something special. Yesterday I cooked stuffed Mackerel and it turned delicious. So my hubby went to fish market and got some more fresh Mackerel’s and told me to make it again. He just loved them. I will post the step-by-step pictures of Stuffed Mackerel recipe again. But if you want you can refer to my old recipe too.
When I was cleaning the Mackerels, I found something different. Yes, they were babies. Fish babies or Fish Roe. In Goa we call it “Gaboli”. I immediately told my little toddler to see these fish babies and she immediately told me that she will eat them 😀 This is the first time that I found babies inside a fish. I called my Mom and asked her whether it is healthy if my little one eats. My Mom said yes but only to give her 2-3 of them and also told me the recipe to cook them.
It actually turned yum… No I did not taste. I could not. Only my hubby and baby had them. Whatever turns good in my kitchen never remains for me 🙂
Ingredients:
4-5 Fish Roe
For Marination:
1 tsp red chilly powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp salt
For Coating:
1 tablespoon rawa
1 tablespoon rice flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp chilly powder
1 tablespoon oil
Procedure:
Clean the fish roe carefully.
Marinate then with the ingredients meant for marination.
Â
Now mix the ingredients meant for coating. Coat each marinated fish roe.
Heat a frying pan and add oil. Once the oil gets slightly heated place the flour coated fish roe in the frying pan. Fry on both sides. This should normally take around 15-20 minutes.
