- Bread: Use brown bread or wheat bread or multi grain bread. Any type of slice bread can be used to make this delicious and healthy carrot sandwich with peas.
- Vegetables: Vegetables like freshly grated carrots and boiled green peas are used in this recipe. You can use canned green peas too.
- Garlic: Garlic is used in this recipe for enhancing the taste. This is an optional ingredient. If you are making a no onion no garlic recipe, this ingredient can be avoided.
- Spices: Spices like black pepper powder and chaat masala are used in this healthy sandwich recipe.
- Cheese: Grated cheese is used in this recipe. Any type of cheese can be used.
Steps to make delicious sandwich with grated carrot and boiled green peas:
For making the peas and carrot sandwich filling:
- Heat a kadai or pan and add little oil. After the oil gets heated, add finely chopped garlic and finely chopped green chilies. Stir and sauté till you can smell the strong smell of garlic.
- Add the grated carrots and boiled green peas and let this cook for 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle black pepper powder and chaat masala, salt to taste and mix well.
Switch off the heat. The filling is ready.
To assemble the sandwich:
- To prepare the sandwich, take a slice of bread and spread some filling evenly on the slice.
- Garnish with grated cheese.
- Close this with another slice of bread.
- You can grill this sandwich or have it as it is. I have grilled it using a panini grill press.

- Cut the edges of the sandwich bread if you wish.
- Addition of grated cheese if optional.
- Garlic is an optional ingredient.

Ingredients
- 6 slices of bread
- 1 cup carrot grated
- 1/ cup green peas boiled
- 5 garlic cloves finely chopped
- 2 green chilies finely chopped
- ½ teaspoon black pepper powder
- 1 teaspoon chaat masala
- 2 tablespoon grated cheese for garnish
- To taste salt
Instructions
For making the sandwich filling:
- Heat a kadai and add 1 tablespoon oil. After the oil gets heated, add finely chopped garlic and finely chopped green chilies. Stir and sauté till you can smell the strong smell of garlic.
- Now add the grated carrots and boiled green peas and let this cook for 10 minutes.
- Add black pepper powder and chaat masala and stir. Add salt to taste and mix everything well.
