Ever since I started creating recipes for TTK kitchen appliances, they have been my favourite at home. TTK Prestige is India’s largest kitchen appliance brand which is well-known for innovative kitchen appliances since several decades. Few weeks back I was invited for an exclusive food tasting event by TTK Prestige in conjunction with MasterChef Runner Up and Celebrity Chef Shazia Khan at The Oberoi, Bangalore.

What did Chef Shazia Khan do at the workshop?
- MasterChef runner-up and celebrity Chef Shazia Khan demystified ‘nouvelle cuisine’ for the home cook.
- Demonstrated the benefit of using innovative kitchen tools for creating culinary masterpieces.
- Highlighted the importance of fresh local produce and quality ingredients.
Chef Shazia conceptualised a fusion menu for the event comprising: dukkah crusted paneer with creamy beetroot, the brinjal affair, grilled figs with almond crumble and vanilla mousse, chilly mutton sliders, Cuban chicken skewers and specially concocted grape juice puchka shots. Following are some of the pictures of dishes demonstrated at the event by the chef.
Some cooking tips were also shared with us. Listing some of the tips below:
- When making chicken kebabs and skewers, use thigh pieces. Don’t use breast pieces as they tend to dry up.
- Use gelatine if you have to set mousse in moulds where you have to de-mould it later. If you are going to set mousse in serving glasses, you may not use gelatine.
- Indian cooking spoils the taste of vegetable due to addition of lots of spices. So to retain the taste of vegetables, use less spices.
- Use seasonal fruits in cooking. For eg. figs are in the season now. Mangoes in summer, etc.
She used a range of innovative kitchen tools and gadgets from TTK Prestige during the cooking demo. The innovative tools and gadgets included: Prestige Air-Fryer, Prestige Slow Juicer, Clip on pressure cooker, Schott glass gas hob top, Automatic mixer grinder, Induction cook top, Gold cookware and the Veggie cutter.
Commenting on how TTK Prestige as a brand caters to the Indian consumer, Mr. Chandru Kalro, Managing Director, TTK Prestige said, “Cooking has evolved into an art form. It is important to have the right cooking tools and gadgets to recreate the perfect dish. In fact, for the home cook, a well equipped kitchen can dictate and have an impact on what he or she eats on a daily basis. Now, with the help of TTK Prestige, it is easy to re-create nouvelle cuisine from the comfort of your home.”
Speaking at the event Chef Shazia Khan said, “The palate of Indians is becoming increasingly sophisticated. People are open to trying out different cuisines as they are now being exposed to high end restaurants mushrooming across the country, shows like MasterChef as well as widespread international travel. Such events enable me to inspire, teach and motivate home cooks to create delicious Michelin restaurant quality food in their own kitchens.’’
We got to taste the delicious dishes made by Chef Shazia Khan at the event and also got to enjoy a special meal crafted and created by the Chef herself.
Thanks TTK Prestige for inviting me to attend this event and special thanks to Chef Shazia Khan for the wonderful cooking demo. Also thanks for gifting me a TTK Prestige electric kettle.
