About mushroom fried rice
If you are wondering if you can add mushrooms to fried rice, then let me tell you something. Yes! You can add mushrooms to fried rice just like how you add mushrooms to lo Mein noodles.
The benefit of cooking food at home is that it becomes healthy as we cook in a hygienic way and one can customize it as per need. I have added carrot and bell pepper to this delicious mushroom rice recipe to make it healthy. You may also add egg and peas to this simple mushroom and rice recipe.
Even better, this fried rice doesn’t require freshly cooked rice; it can be made from leftover rice, saving you valuable time. With this method, you can have a delectable meal on the table in under 15 minutes.
Mushroom fried rice ingredients:
- Rice: We recommend using Basmati rice for this vegan mushroom fried rice, but you can use any long-grain or raw rice variety you prefer. Freshly cooked rice or leftovers both work.
- Mushroom: Opt for fresh mushrooms over canned varieties for better flavor and texture. Button mushrooms are our choice, but you can experiment with shiitake or oyster mushrooms for that delightful umami twist.
- Vegetables: We’ve included red onions, green onions, spring onion greens, bean sprouts, carrots, and green bell peppers for a medley of flavors and nutrients. Feel free to toss in peas and green beans to enhance the dish’s health factor.
- Spices: Garlic is a must, finely chopped or minced. It adds a unique depth of flavor. Additionally, a pinch of black pepper powder gives the dish a hint of spice.
- Sauces: The secret to this Chinese mushroom fried rice’s flavor lies in the soy sauce and green chili sauce. If you need a gluten-free option, swap out soy sauce for Tamari sauce.
