Now coming to today’s Rawa fried broccoli recipe. This time when I went to do my weekly grocery shopping, I got attracted to something very cute. It was a bunch of broccoli lying on the shelf, waiting to be picked by a shopper. The green broccoli which is full of anti-oxidants is what I would really love to replace by the cauliflower. When I got it home, the challenge was to make a dish which my little one would love and eat. She does not like spicy stuff, neither does she like anything bland. Without a second thought I decided to rawa fry the broccoli, just how I do for cauliflower. The end result was great and my little one also loved the “green cauliflower” as she named it.
1 bunch of broccoli
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. turmeric powder
¼ teaspoon salt
Oil for frying
For the coating the broccoli:
½ cup rawa / semolina
¼ cup rice flour
½ teaspoon chili powder
¼ teaspoon salt
Mix rawa, rice flour, chilly powder and salt and keep aside.
Cut the broccoli into pieces, wash them and immerse them into water.
Drain the water.
Apply chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt to the broccoli and keep aside for 5-10 Min’s.
Now take the frying pan, heat it and spread 1 tbsp. oil on it. And arrange the rawa coated broccoli on the frying pan one by one. Spread 1-2 tablespoon oil on top of the rawa coated broccoli.
After 10 Min’s, flip to the other side and fry for another 10-15 Min’s.
Note: Do not over-fry the broccoli as they will loose the nutrition.
