After it’s done, fluff it using a fork. Sprinkle black pepper powder and cinnamon powder on the cooked basmati rice and keep it aside.

Meanwhile, heat a kadai/wok and add oil.
After oil gets heated, add the spices, namely cinnamon, cloves and black peppercorns. Sauté for half a minute.
Add onion and sauté till onion turns pinkish.
Add minced garlic and sauté.
Next add ginger garlic paste and sauté.
Add coriander leaves and mix well.
Next add broccoli florets and cook it covered on low flame for 5 minutes. Ensure that the broccoli florets remain bit crunchy. Don’t over-cook them.
Next add salt to taste and mix.
In the last step, add rice and toss ensuring that the long grains of basmati rice does not break.
