Mexican Fish Wraps

Mexican fish wraps are a low-calorie snack. Marinated fish is grilled on skewers and wrapped in tortilla with lettuce and salsa with tangy yogurt dressing. This can be added to your low fat dinner recipes collection.

Ingredients

  • 1 corn/wheat tortilla
  • 200 gm boneless and skinless Basa fish fillet sliced into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 lettuce/salad leaves
  • 1 teaspoon oil

For marination:

  • 2 tablespoons black pepper powder
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For salsa:

  • 1 medium sized tomato finely chopped
  • 1 medium sized onion finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 1 green chili finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt

For dressing:

  • 1/2 cup thick yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Marinate the fish by applying black pepper powder, lemon juice and salt. Keep it aside for 30 minutes.
  • In a bowl, mix the ingredients mentioned for salsa and keep it aside.
  • In another small bowl, mix yogurt and seasoning for making the yogurt sauce.
  • Pre-heat the oven for 5 minutes.
  • Place the marinated fish on the skewers, brush them with oil and grill them for 20 minutes at 200 C.
  • To assemble the Mexican fish wraps, heat the tortilla for few seconds.
  • Place it on a plate.
  • In the centre spread the lettuce.
  • Spread 2 tablespoon of salsa and grilled fish pieces.
  • Add 2 tablespoon of yogurt sauce on the top of the fish.
  • Roll the tortillas by bringing the opposite sides together.
  • If the roll is very big, cut it in halves and serve with yogurt sauce and salsa.

Notes

  • Fish can be grilled or shallow fried.
